I have two Auto Terra IIB’s where most have never seen one. I am working on the recent acquisition, and have removed the front lens ring which also removes the front elements of the lens to clean the sticky shutter blades below. When I have tried to resemble, the aperture selector ring which sits in place and only has a lever which fits in the hole on the bottom right, doesn’t seem to work any longer. It is a real mystery as it doesn’t seem that complicated. I took out my other camera to see what I might be doing wrong and removed this same piece thinking there must be something missing, but now both cameras aperture selectors are not working. Anyone have experience with this or is there any advice as to what is happening. When I put the lens ring back on to tighten, it also seems to tighten the aperture selector ring so it doesn’t move easily.
I’m sure there isn’t much experience out there with this camera as it is quite scarce, but I’m wondering if anyone has had experience with something similar on a different camera. This is a pretty much standard Seikosha MX shutter B-500 and this seems far from complicated but I’m stuck.
Any help or comments or gifted repair people would be welcome.

What does the back (the part that faces the inside of the shutter) of this ring look like? I think I'd better understand if I saw that.

Here are two photos showing the shutter enclosure and the back of the aperture ring.

What happens if you manually move the little bit (down in the slot) the arm is supposed to act upon? Does that close the aperture then, or does it do nothing?

That seems to be the issue. I don't find anything the arm seems to connect to in the slot. I know the aperture selector worked before I disassembled, as it opened and closed. Doesn't seem that complicated unless when I removed the chrome ring whatever was supposed to connect to the lever arm suddenly snapped out of sight???
I am at a loss and don't neccesarily want to disassemble any further.
Any thoughts?
