I just received my gorgeous Pen EES-2 back from Avi (Avi999), who repaired the stuck blades on it for free, all it cost me was the shipping. Now the camera is not only mint and beatiful, I can actually use it 🙂. Many thanks for Avi for the repairs and his advice.

coincidentally I also have an EES-2 with stuck aperture blades...

I do think the meter is dead as well, so I guess it's beyond repair.

Thanks Andy,
I'm flattered and glad you can't see the color
of my face while reading your warm words 😉

Glad to help and happy shooting with your new toy
Avi

Hello Jonas

If iris is stuck it is sometimes hard to tell if meter is
dead or not. Don't lose hope yet 😉
Set the ASA to 200 and play with the release button, can you see
that the iris is moving or iris is stuck ?
if it moves, repeat the above with a lens cap ON, do you see a red flag popping up in the viewfinder?

let me know and I'll try to help

Avi,

what exactly is the iris? The shutter opens and closes, that is no problem. The diaphragm is locked at the smallest aperture. Is the iris something in between? If so, I can't see it with the aperture at f/22... No red flag in the viewfinder either!

thanks

iris=diaphragm
OK, shutter is OK, diaphragm is stuck.
Still, light meter might be OK or dead.
Bad news - you'll need to open the camera and repair it 🙁
Good news - I can do it for you but you'll need to send it over and cover the shipping cost 🙂

I'll send you PM

Avi
