Even though I started learning manual camera +film photography with B & W film, it got to a point where i have 50+ rolls of developed negatives that will probably never be printed. I enjoyed developing them myself, but in hoping to get concrete feedback, I've been shooting c41 color film with the occasional c41 B & W. Each time I load film I always reach for the c41s even though i always have a roll of two of Ilford HP+5 on me.(it's been 10 months since i shot real B & W).
So, today, i was by the water, between Brooklyn Bridge and Manhattan Bridge (? ), there came the most glorious golden sunset, reflections off of the buildings' glass, the bridge was a golden brown red...and i had 2 color frames in my Minolta AL, which I finished. All i had left were HP+5. I still loaded the film and shot a few, even if it was the color that i was after...
Is there a different kind of beauty in a B & W sunset? i'll most likely not see these shots printed in this life time....🙁
