Backfocus fix on M8? catastrophe on M7?

I'm planning to send some lenses for backfocus fixing and 6bit but recently a friend of mine took back a lens from solms that needed fixing backfocus problem for m8 and it works fine until I borrowed it for some b&w shots on M7, now it has terrible front focus on negative??? whats going on is M8 having a different lens to ccd distance?

As far as I understand film cameras are much more reluctant to tolerances in the lens to film distance than digital cameras are to lens to sensor distance. This also the reason twhy Leica lowered their tolerances during the production of the M8.
