so, last week the muffler went on my car.

when they went in to replace it they discovered my gas tank was leaking.
couldn't be repaired so had to replace it.

today, i found my car had been broken into, passenger glass shattered, my aftermarket stereo gone and the faceplate holding it all in was destroyed.

i'd cry if i could stop laughing.

i hope it's over now...

Sorry to hear about your bad luck. The saying: "If it wasn't for bad luck, I'd have no luck at all," seems to apply.

Guess you have to weather the troughs to experience the crests. 🙂

Sorry to hear about that. Look at the bright side... they didn't take your P's.

Bummer. Like stated, they didn't get your treasures.

Which Firesign Theater Record had:
"And remember, surrounding every silver lining, there's a dark cloud!"

insurance?
thieves in disguise...

vandalism vs, theft.
with a $250 deductible maybe not worth it.

after the fact the 'rules' are uncovered.

my stereo was not 'factory' and i failed to inform them...
when theft occurs it is no longer vandalism...

it might all be covered but then again it might not.
the future will tell.

i'm in a foul mood, i want a cigar!

I've had 3 stereos stolen from various cars, valued around $8k in all.. never got a dime from insurance.. most insurance companies have exclusions for aftermarket stereos, as well as any cds stolen.. you'd have to have additional coverage for that.. thieves, is right

I finally gave up and stayed with the factory system.. it's ok but could definitely use a good 4-channel amp.. I'd settle for 75 wpc RMS.. but then I'd want new speakers, too.. and while I'm at it, I might as well get that nice Alpine system that controls my iPod.. so I'm back up to $2000 minimum.. arrrr!

Fancy stereo? I stuck a cheap amp under the seat, with a lead and connector to my MP3 player. When I leave the car, the player goes with me, and there's nothing to see and tempt the thieves.

I once had a $30. stereo stolen from my car. The thieves broke out my driver side window to get it, even though I always left my car unlocked. I didn't want anyone breaking a $60. window to get a $30. stereo.

Sorry to hear about misfortunes with your car, Joe.

Insurance companies = Thieves <----> Yes, yes, I agree with your opinion of them. Don't ask me why ? 😡

This does suck Joe (the car woes, not the portrait 🙂 ) Hang in there, collect your nuts and berries for your winter stores. More serious concerns are on the way, like the snow. When do you start shoveling the stuff? (pathetic attempt at changing the subject)
