Peter, is your's the 802 or 803 clone? My understanding is that 8.5"x11" paper won't fit in an 803, making the 802 the briefcase option.

Let me know if anyone wants to do a group buy.
thanks.
I think the wind is out of the sail regarding the group purchase. The savings wasn't that much, and I just got loaded up with work this morning, so my time in the near future will be more stressed than it was a day ago. If someone else wants to pick up the search I still may be in. I will repost the response from the ebay seller that I got when I get a chance.

Rover, some of my posts got deleted with the recent forum switch back but briefly:
I found someone who appears to import safrotto, and he will come back to me within the week for a quote on prices from his retailer.
My thought was that if he imports them, I'd probably only have to pay for regional shipping, since the guy is located in Berlin.
This would not only be cheaper for us european folks (those who want one of those bags anyways) but also, shipping the lot from me (Germany) to i.e. rover in the US and from there to the other guys could end up being cheaper than shipping from china.
Also, I'd like to point out (again) that mekko.net is apparently selling their products directly from their site, you can find better pics of their lineup at http://www.filmnara.co.kr/shop/lvDisplay.phtml?pcode=914
..which leads me to another thing:
I just got an email from the Berlin reseller, he seems to import them directly from safrotto and said all bags would be available but it could take 2-3 weeks for them to ship.
He also stated that he'd also be able to provide me with mekko bags although those would be more expensive and heavier => slightly higher shipping rates..
I asked him for a quote on prices of the Safrotto CF 700/800/900 and mekko 803/805 bags, I'll post them when I get them...
cheers,
phil

peter_n said:Oscar I got mine from an eBay seller called Rong Jin. He's at the link rover posted above. Attached is a pic of my bag with stuff in it.
Left compartment: 90mm Tele-Elmarit, CV 35mm pancake
Middle compartment: M6 + fully extended Elmar-M 50mm
Right compartment: Kobalux 21mm, Russar 20mm finder, mobile phone
Front pockets: filters, film
More than enough!!![]()
Ahhh I see. There are both 1 and 2 lock straps versions, and also both light and dark brown, AND they mekko and saffrotto are the same bags.
4 options to choose from, argh ! :bang:

Its the F-803 clone, rover. Attached is a pic that shows a folder sitting in the back pocket of the bag.rover said:Peter, is your's the 802 or 803 clone? My understanding is that 8.5"x11" paper won't fit in an 803, making the 802 the briefcase option.
That folder will just nicely fit into the main body of the bag. Maybe this bag has very slightly larger dimension (length) than the Domke?

Just figured I'd update...
I went ahead and purchased a Domke 803 (in sand, I don't know why, but I love that color) and its a really nice bag. Its a bit big, but it holds my gear, plus textbooks, prints, and even a laptop if I need to carry it to class. To all that suggested the 802 and 803 bags, thanks.

I picked up that identical Safrotto bag -- same colour even. Man do I ever like it!peter_n said:Its the F-803 clone, rover. Attached is a pic that shows a folder sitting in the back pocket of the bag.

Where'd my Bessa go?
Does anyone have a picture of either their J-803 or F-802 satchels to show with gear inside? That'd give a better idea of the bags can hold.

Thanks Peter but I think thats the F803 clone ya? I was looking for the J803 digital satchel and also the slightly larger F802.
Btw, did you have to get the 3 compartment insert as an option?

Oops sorry I was tired when I sent that. The 3 compartment insert came standard, as does the shoulder pad you can see in that picture. The J-803 should carry the same amount of gear in the camera area of the bag.

I did not receive any sort of insert with my J-803, there were only the front flaps. I'm not sure if I got screwed or if the 803 just doesn't come with inserts but I wish I had them.

I ordered the 3 compartment insert with my J803 just to be safe. The F803 I saw in the store only had the single insert, which was kinda useless since it left the other 2 compartments unprotected. I suppose a DIY job would have been achievable but the Domke insert was going for $17 only.
The clones come with the inserts. Domke sells them separate.
