BBB-E (Bare Bones Bag)
got one on order which is currently being produces. small, unobtrusive, fits the things you named, very low profile and from what I heard excellent weather protection
I can second this recommendation since I also like to carry my iPad.

I just picked up a Maxpedition Jumbo Versipack with a Domke 720-2JP insert, loving it so far.

bag of youre choice and a padded insert!
+1 on this. I have an Eastpak Delegate with an Artisan and Artist insert. Holds my camera plus three lenses and has lots of space to spare... if you want to carry only one body and one lens, look for the smaller bags and inserts...

I just bought a Brixton (Field Tan) messenger bag from ONA for my M6 and M8, and it is as perfect as it gets. Not cheap but a great bag.

Desperate but not serious
I have the f804, looks more like a messenger bag as a whole and the secondary packets can easily handle a M6 + lens each.
Domke F803? That's what I use, no inserts. I just chuck everything in. For carrying another lens, I just use Domke wrap.

"Oskar's little day bag" by Artisan & Artist. Small but roomy. Mine holds my M4 with 50 DR 'cron and hood attached, 90mm 'cron, 35 mm Zeiss Biogon and 135 Hektor. Plus Sekonic 398 meter a 39mm yellow filter and lens cleaning stuff. And 2 rolls of film. A very compact package,

I tried A&A and a few other 'nice' options, but they all looked and felt like camera bags. Then I found the Lowe Pro Exchange at Best Buy for $20. Just a small messenger bag with enough room for an M and a couple of lenses. Perfect. But, if you want to carry your camera and, say, an iPad, I'd go with a messenger bag (whichever one you like) + inserts. Like someone else said, Barbour makes good bags.

this is what i have been using for the past year. http://www.mpjaccessories.com/safrotto-cl002-waterproof-coated-dacron-camera-case-bag_p11154.html
bought mine in Singapore for less than what is indicated.
m6 with a 35 summicron fits just right (middle compartment- 2 spacers included) with space for my cellular phones and wallet. front pocket holds small notebook, pen and 6 rolls of tri-x.

This is what I use as my everyday carry bag. It is small, light, easy to work out of when shooting (it doesn't 'get in the way' as many bags do), and it holds an M6, a handheld meter, 28, 35, and 50mm lenses (one on the camera), film, and a notebook. Its a small bag,so it won't fit an iPad or other fairly large things, but as a camera bag its great.
The only downside is that the price seems to have DRAMATICALLY increased since I bought mine a couple years ago. I bought mine for half what it costs now (I got it new from Popflash). I'm not sure I'd buy it now...I simply cannot afford it at the current price, and the price seems very high to me even if I were wealthy....I'm tightfisted.
Which bag is it, Chris? The link still goes to Popflash, but the page for the bag is gone.

Rob,
Hovering over the link showed it to be the Artisan and Artist GCAM-7200.

I bought a cheap Eastpak messenger bag for £15 off Amazon and an insert. It's really light and doesn't look like a camera bag. I took an M6, Bessa R2a, three lenses, a light meter, batteries, tickets/passport etc and 40 rolls of film on the plane to Italy in that bag
