Bag for M6 recommendations

I'm looking for a general everyday work bag that doesn't look like a camera bag to fit my M6 & 35/2 and other daily items. One that's not too big, is comfortable and looks good.

I have a ThinkTank Retro5, but it is too bulky and looks like a camera bag.

Has anyone got any recommendations?

i just use a bag bag, if you know what i mean. mine is a barbour canvas bag that looks, i guess, a bit like a billingham. i don't think you need padding and dividers for one camera.

billingham hadley small, an M6 with a 35/2 with the lens facing one of the sides will take around 1/4th of the bag length, you get some space for a tiny umbrella and other stuff. it's what i use everyday.

This is what I use as my everyday carry bag. It is small, light, easy to work out of when shooting (it doesn't 'get in the way' as many bags do), and it holds an M6, a handheld meter, 28, 35, and 50mm lenses (one on the camera), film, and a notebook. Its a small bag,so it won't fit an iPad or other fairly large things, but as a camera bag its great.

The only downside is that the price seems to have DRAMATICALLY increased since I bought mine a couple years ago. I bought mine for half what it costs now (I got it new from Popflash). I'm not sure I'd buy it now...I simply cannot afford it at the current price, and the price seems very high to me even if I were wealthy....I'm tightfisted.

Domke F803? That's what I use, no inserts. I just chuck everything in. For carrying another lens, I just use Domke wrap.

I really like the Freitag messenger bags made from old lorry tarps and seat belts.
Not cheap but great bags.

It looooks like a camera bag; very much.

Leica bag number 14842....soft black nappa leather with a top zip, and stud front pocket. Stiffened sides and dividers, using strong stiff stuff, and felt covered. Excellent strap and shoulder pad....not easily cuttable. Size outside 25x14x19 cm. Very beautifully made and just creasing from use...no wear, marks or stains. Does not look like ballistic nylon!!. Late 1980's.

Lets face it ... so called "not looking like a camera bag"....they all look like camera bags.

Aaah the quality, and the easy useability.

I'm careful where I take the M6, and my Canon G1X. A small thyrsistor flash and some filters and hoods fit in the front. And a notebook, also leather covered. The bag would be extremely stealable if left for a moment in dangerous situations.

And of course the nice red logo, Leitz.

I'll throw in a F-5XB. Small , rugged, lightweight, practical and not too expensive. Various colors/materials available.

I use either a Domke F-5XB or F-803. The 803 carries a bit more (I can get an M body + 2 lenses in the 5XB) and neither scream out "photographer". Plus they're extremely durable and well-designed in terms of pockets and usability.

I'll second the F-803 and add that I got the "waxwear" model. It weathers nicely, is certainly very durable and just carries well.

It's subjective but I don't find it looks like a camera bag, particularly...especially when I put a magazine or book I'm currently reading in the back pocket.

I have an M6 and 35 'Cron myself, too.

Look at the lowepro terraclime 100. Simple, light, just a small messenger-shaped bag that fits the M plus lots of room for the usual junk. I fitted mine with an A&A padded divider from the ACAM 7100, which fits in it loosely and molds nicely to it and to whatever gear I want to carry.

I bought this one cause one of my RFF friends said my handled backpack with wheels seemed like too much to tote around.It seems to work. M6 /40mm, RD-1/50mm,plus tablet, meter,battery's Lens hood and room for 1 or 2 lens stacked between dividers.🙂

The Fogg b-minor is really nice and can be used for various things. If used mainly for camera gear, it fits for me two OM bodies, one with lens, one without and one or two extra lenses. In the front pockets there is space for a few rolls of film, a small notebook, a small Leitz tripod and filters.

For a more lightweight solution I use a bare-bones-bag or a black German army satchel with a Ciesta insert. That leaves room for other stuff and protects the camera and an additional lens.
