Cycling to work this morning (that is, the second cycle ride, after a short ride and the 50 min train journey 🙁 ), the weather in Cambridge is glorious. Cold and crisp, blue skies and beautifully frosted cob webs everywhere you care to look. Remnants of fog rolling over the fields, with someone walking their dog in beautiful silhouette. As I sit in my office with great windows, overlooking the fields and the little pond at work, the fog is coming in again, with the sun just about filtering through, wonderful milky-white light.

Sigh.

And I'm stuck by the phone inside, waiting for various people to do various things for me, engineers to come and install things for us, having to do work.

And by the time I go home, it'll be dark again.

And I know, for sure, by definition, that come the weekend, it'll be warmer and raining again :bang: .

Hence: bah humbug.

Anybody else feel the same way?

Count your blessings. I only dream of a window. I work with idiots. And I don't get paid all that much.

But I have a wonderful wife, great kids, super friends and neighbours. ("Just SUPER, Reggie!")

I can look out the window, normally across the Lincolnshire fields but only about 50 yards today. 🙁 We were supposed to finish flying the present course yeaterday but that didn't happen. It is not likely to happen today ot indeed for the rest of the week. So much for perhaps an early finish for the Christams break. 🙁 🙁 🙁

I spent a month in that area around May of 2000. Very beautiful countryside. We worked just about every day and did not get to do much sight seeing. We did get to Cambridge one Sunday afternoon, delightful place to visit. Also made it over to Felix Stowe. I sure enjoyed that as well. Since 2000 I have been back to the New Market area and Mildenhall. Are the places I've mentioned close to where you all are at? Now that I am retired I hope to make it back sometime. I need to get out my map of UK and put it on my office wall so I can keep track of all my new found friends.

Warmest Regards,

It is very frosty here this morning and the temp is probably about (-)3 C. The sun is still about 40 minutes away from appearing above the horizon. The eastern sky is getting lighter and I do not see any clouds. Looks like it is going to be a really good day. We have had mild weather so far and I am thankful for that. I need to get out and do some more Christmas shoping so I better get with it today.

Regards,
Tom Harrell
