Norrköping of all places?
I would prefer to go the inland Riga - Valga/Valku - Tartu (and Peipsi Järv with the onion farmers if they still exist these days) - Tallinn route. But I am one for seeing things off the beaten path a bit. I even visited the gravestone of Juhan Liiv (estonian poet) in Alatskivi.
The coastal areas with its ever-stretching beaches (like at the old communist resort Jurmala close to Riga) are breathtaking and I understand why so many people went there on holidays in the 20's and 30's.
If you are into nature stuff, the area around Otepää (Estonia) is really nice.
In general, I think there is so much to see in these three countries (like Vilnius, Siauliai or the countryside along the road) that you can spend days and days here.

Up to that point we had managed to subsist on zeppelin dumplings and borscht washed down with beer and unhealthy amounts of Rīgas Melnais balzam which we drunk for giggles.
Is that the stuff in a stoneware bottle that looked like tar, and tasted suspiciously like it too?

The price of the periodic car checking, + the price and delay for the visa putted an end to my ambition to go to moscow this summer (in fact I could but without a Euro left for the unpredictible things that can happen : tyre puncture for exemple)
Anyway, I will be visiting the south of sweden and norway, wich is not that bad because I won't have to respect any ferry boarding date and I can put my tent anywhere I want
(plus schengen european space, so total freedom...)
The good new is that it will give me more time to take picture, less risk of accident on the road (western europe is quite safe for that)
the bad new is that I won't see my friend in moscow this summer...
Anyway, that's how live is

That's the one. One can only hope it's made of tar, other less appetizing ingredients cross the mind as well

How do you like Lithuania and Latvia? I found them flat, boring and expensive (sorry, Boris). Loved Estonia, though. And I've always liked Poland (been there many times).
Cheers,
R.
I got arrested for speeding on my motorbike in Lithuania
