Bangers, Mash & Photos...

I took a long drive along the Mississippi today, stopped at a lovely old hotel in Trempeleau, WI for lunch where they had classic English “bangers & mash” in onion gravy with peas on the menu. I’d share a pic of that too but before I thought of it, I had eaten it all. Yum! My son thinks the English have horrific cuisine; I personally love most of it. Nothing like a roast dinner and a pudding 😉

I used to live in NW Illinois close to the Mississippi River, and used to do a similar drive every fall. I really miss seeing the bluffs! I always went to Effigy Mounds in Iowa, sometimes spent the night in Eau Claire. I even know how to pronounce Trempeleau! I also used to own a 20 acre parcel near Prairie du Chien. I really like that part of the midwest

Sure do! My GF lives there so I've visited a couple of times. Love walking around down there with a camera in my hand. The metal sculpture museum was a blast as is the pyramid 😉
