"Bargain" 50mm?

Russian lens compatibility

Russian lens compatibility

The Industar is inexpensive and has excellent performance; noted to be the best among Russian optics.

Do check because the Jupiter 12 with its pertruding rear element might damage your camera shutter. I heard it doesnt fit on some rangefinders.

The J12 will fit the M6 (and all other M's excepst M5 and CL) but it will block the light meter cell, so a hand held meter reading is best with this lens.

If you want a 50mm with the most bang-for-buck, there is no beating the Jupiter-8. You'll need to get a LTM to M adapter, but even then, it works out cheaper than even a Canon 50/1.8.

It's light and compact, and makes very nice pictures. 🙂

Just a tip: if you're searching for one on eBay, the ones sold by private sellers in the UK or US are typically cheaper than those sold by Russian sellers.

Also on ebay, it's sometime cheaper to obtain a zorki 4 or 4k with the jupiter 8 than just the lens itself. The zorki is not that bad of a camera either..
