 I dropped into the local Aldis (Queensbury, NY) today to pick up some odds and ends for Thanksgiving. Aldis for those who don't know is a German based limited selection supermarket chain with stores in many countries. Most of their merchandise is private label. They also carry some private label electronics for limited amounts of time. They currently have a private label (Tevion) flatbed scanner with a 35mm film attachment for $69.95. The film attachment plugs into the body of the scanner and casts an overhead light onto and through the film. It scans at up to 4800 x 9600 dpi, single pass only. It does not look like any other scanner I am familiar with, but is a neat looking item. In the U.S. they do not accept credit cards, only cash and certain debit cards. I have no idea how good it is but if I didn't already have five scanners and a wife who thinks that is three too many I would have chanced it. Just thought I would mention it.

I decided to bump this one up so more readers in different time zones would be able to read it. Scanner is USB 1.1 and 2 compatible and requires Windows Me or 2000 as well I would guess higher compatibility as well as 500 mh speed.

One more bump for the West Coast crowd.

P.S. I have no financial interest in any of this.

Didn't know that. The Epson certainly comes with better software.
