Not sure how you worked those female attachments into the deal for your IIIc, but I should go back to my seller and tell him to arrange for the immediate delivery of the same thing for my recently acquired IIIc. By the way, what is the attachment model #? 🙂

I find the same feeling only in three other cameras and none on them is small. They are the Nikon F, the Rolleiflex and the Speed Garphic: just the perfect design for what they have to do, nothing less you will miss an nothing more to distract you...

They fit the hand and in your pocket and look cool. I only wish they took some of the superb new lenses.

They do if you can find them, but they are pricey. I just acquired a chrome current issue 50 Cron in screw mount. Leica did make a small run of some current lenses in screw mount a few years ago.

I have a 35mm/1.7 CV lens thats very good. As well as 21mm/4 one. And I'm sure Voigtlander will bring some more out soon too, as they are pretty much the only ones that make new screw mount lenses anymore. Maybe Zeiss will make a small run of their new ZM lenses in screw mount, but I'm not holding my breath on that one.

Yep, Form VS function, thats why the desigjner has a 52 Studebaker Starline Coupe sitting in MOMA along with his trophy. I think that was the neatest car of the century. He also got an award for the 49 stude.

I don't know why exactly, just fell in love with my first IIIf, that I had to buy another! Definately form follows function, but they look and feel like they have been crafted purely for their aesthetic appeal alone....

I agree with all the sentiments here. I love the precision machining, heft, and feel of the camera. A piece of art hopefully producing a piece of art... Plus, I like the way mine smells 😀 .

In the past the only way you could afford a lever wind was a IIIc or IIIf (or IIc or IIf) and a leicavit. This was just as fast as an original MP, (but cheaper) - until you needed to reload a film - and was more compact.
A IIIC and a lever wind is probably dearer today.
In '70 when I first had a IIf the store bought film came with a bottom loader leader, so loading was nearly as fast, or my memory has faded... and yes my memory which was never good, has faded a bit

I often wondered if this same firm made these devices for bottomloader Leicas and copies including the Canons, maybe not, as these Leicas and Canons at least ,could be fitted with the optional bottom winders from their respective makers.

why do i use my IIIc? i answer that: it works well. also, it is not too small, but just small enough for most with manly hands; see below how it fits in my rather large hand...its size and weight are such a happy fit.

cute, small, perfect, a complete pain in the ass to use. what more do you want in a camera? use one with an elmar or an industar 22 and you will fall in love, even if you only use one twice a year,
