I've been too lazy to meter which Schottky diode type is most appropriate to use in Lynx 5000, probably anyone has done this already ?

If not, please remind me if draw current is metered in serial, right ? just wanted to be sure. In well known battery manual is mentioned that no big difference is between those two diodes, though if I take this mod, why not choose right one diode.

The BAT 43 will drop the voltage too much. The 1N5711 is a better choice..

Thanks colyn.
Which parameter in data sheet for diodes I should check for voltage drop; is there direct parameter or one has to calculate for how much voltage will be dropped from other parameters ?

UPD1: found locally 1N5711 in one shop only, strange enough, it costs 6 times a BAT81 or BAT83, about $3 a piece. Is 1N5711 recommended over any other BAT8[1,2,3]-type diode ?

Does anyone have a source for BAT83 diodes? I've not found a Canadian source and need several for projects. Hopefully I can locate some from a source that will ship to Canada.

Cheers,
