batteries for lunasix?

Hi all, just got in the post today a mint lunasix and I know they use a mercury cell, but i was hoping someone could tell me if using alkalines would work as well and what kind of alkalines do you use

Sorry, no luck with alkalines. Gossen sells an adaptor to use silver cells in. There are also other adaptors you can buy so that silver cells work. I think they are called CRIS. You could solder a couple of diodes into the battery power wire and use silver cells. Use Google for "mercury battery adaptor" for lots of info. Good luck.

Just go to any Gossen stockist and buy the Gossen adapter. It works fine and is not too expensive - end of problem. 😉
