Battery for M8

Hi, got a recent M8 in the post, i think the life batt is not so great and need to buy perhaps two.

I don´t feel like buying at 150 usd a leica branded one so if you have any option please tell me.

after reading discussions here I decided to buy original Leica accus and these are ok until now;
it seems, others than original have some problems and a cheap buy turns to become expensive

Bought a couple on ebay, they work OK. My tech savvy friend tells me if you can find any made in Japan they are probably better.

I think my "spares" are made in China, price was very reasonable, so after a bit of testing, they seem to be acceptable. I did make sure to charge them and use them to test them out right away before I took them on any trips.

They hold a charge well in storage, charge fine in the Leica charger, and give good life in use.

If they had shown any signs of problems, the price is low enough to try some others.

I have had them for more than a year with no complaints.

I also was told by someone working at a major store that the profit on batteries is something like 8X.

I would like to see definitive tests.

Pearstone BM 8 fits the bill

I have one Pearstone BM 8 battery that I use with my Leica M9. No complaints. As good as the Leica battery, including its build quality (exterior, at least). I've had this one for about four months.

Charges, discharges, recharges just fine. I bought a second on Sunday.
