battery for Nikonos IV-A

I just got a IV-A off ebay looks brand new

there are two screw caps on the bottom one smaller than the other I believe the larger one holds 2 DL1/3n 3V Lithium Cells, does the other one also hold batteries? also plus toward the top of the camera or bottom

According to my Nikon Product guide the camera takes two SR-44 batteries.

plus side of battery or negative goes to the top of the camera?
