It is! But the 4th is on Saturday so tomorrow is a holiday.., we get both days to celebrate! And eat!

Don't forget Kansas City and Omaha. However, having now migrated to NC I can definitely say they do NOT have editable barbecue. Barbecue sauce here is vinegar with spices.

Heh, I guess I sound like a BBQ troll... Well, not really but I would like to see if not taste all the BBQ you folks think is the best!

Here in Atlanta, BBQ is what you find. Okay, but... not special.

We celebrate Le Grand Depart on the 4th this year: the start of the Tour de France 2015 in Utrecht. It almost is like a holiday

BUT: you cannot cook real BBQ on a gas fired stainless steel grill. Not southern prejudice, just culinary facts.

Half right. The best blues is from the Delta (which includes Chicago since the Delta is where all the musicians came from). But there is no such thing as "best BBQ". That is like picking out what part of the pig is "best".

It is times like this that I wish I had taken a relevant photo weeks ago when I went past a Barbecue joint in Atlanta... The sign said:

"We Have the Best Smelling Butts in Town!"

My kids decided it was time their dad got a new bbq so they went overboard for Father's Day.

My wife and I will be breaking it in with a nice steak tonight.

Here in OZ it's all gas bbq, back in Belgium the majority is on charcoal.

I must say a wel executed charcoal grill beats gas any time, just a bit more of a hassle.
