Beat up Leica M6

That M4p that Roland pointed out seems like ok value to me. Aside from metering it's much the same camera as an M6 and some seem to think nicer to use. Considering most M6's seem to go for at least $1000.00 it makes an M4p good value at $650.00 BIN. I thought a lot about getting an M4p a while ago but decided that it had a lot of frame lines cluttering the viewfinder that I would never use! 🙄

I like the idea of the M5, its a lil bigger but its not a big deal actually as I read some reviews.

I just bought an M6 classic on ebay, I, too, was looking for a relatively inexpensive one. I had to "settle" of a like new M6 that had about five rolls run through it in its entire life.

Although it is a perfect collector camera, I intend to convert it to a "user" as fast as possible!

Check the F/S posts on this forum. Chuck A is selling my old M6TTL. I had DAG install the flare free finder and remove the 28, 75 and 135 frames, leaving a clean, flare-free 35/50/90 finder. The original body covering was a bit worn, so I put a new cameraleather cover on, along with the stealthy black dot.

He's asking $1050, and it's a steal at that price.

The dealer I bought it from said he got it from a newspaper photographer who sold it to go digital. The camera has a nice patina of use and is the smoothest M6 I've used.

It was a perfect camera I must say but its gone already... I dropped the idea of the M5 just because It can't take elmar collapsed and jupiter 12!

😛 I went through the same process but I bought my camera from another user on photo.net. According to the previous owner, he used it quite a bit but he cared for it very, very much and was in 97%+ condition.

It is the perfect camera for me! It isn't in super-perfect condition where I'm afraid to use it but it isn't completely beat up either
