Somehow color and especially sports photography is not my cup of tea, but anyhow, here is another one from that day on the runway.

Is Tempelhof going to be demolished ? I thought it is/was a serious piece of architecture.

Nevertheless, I don't live in Berlin, but am in the nextdoor country . . .

I am not sure, but I would doubt that. Personally I find the social conflicts more prominent , as the future of the former airfiled Tempelhof may have some impact on the surrounding neighborhoods and Berlin in general, but I am not that well informed. A team of innovative, well trained photojournalists could cover this event from different perspectives, as the audience is already there. But unfortunately I do not see an outlet for that kind of journalism, or do you?

I'll be in Berlin 18-21 this month (escaping the royal wedding), definitely up for some stuff then if anyone's around.

Should be back home again in early/mid July, so the end of July will be holiday time. I'm up for a beer and fotos with the gang!

And I just got that CV 50mm Nokton F/1.1, so anyone with an M-mount will be welcome to try it out.

I'm going to Görlitzer Park again this weekend, probably sunday. I want more of that barbecue smoke vs sunlight through trees light and take better shots than that.

Having created an account on RFF.com just recently (been reading for a couple of months with growing interest for rangefinder photography), I stumbled over this poll and voted for living in Berlin.
I'm not quite new to rangefinders as my father taught me the basics of photography on an Agfa Silette back in the eighties as a teenager. But now I actually don't own a working rangefinder, since the Canonet GIII QL17 I bought on ebay turned out to be in worst condition.
Is there a repair shop in Berlin which specializes in rangefinders? Where do you guys send your cameras for repair or cla?
Thanks in advance and btw: great shot Simon, this is sort of my neighborhood.

Regards, SayCheese

I'll try and be around the Görlitzer Park tomorrow and take better shots than the above :)

Great! The light is really sparkling!

My version is here straight from the scanner:

Apropos smoke, if you have a chance, visit the Olafur Eliasson exhibition at Martin-Gropius Bau. What a pity that cameras are not allowed in there. Very intersting to get in touch with colors.

And feel free to drop me a message if you are around tomorrow.

well I wasn't, no sun, no noth'n'. :D tomorrow might be better though and I might give it another shot. I have your number right? goo g'joob. Lem has mine, he might be in as well?

On my way to Berlin in a few hours - bloody early Ryanair flight, no sleep tonight, zombie tomorrow - but if anyone's up for something Saturday or Sunday let me know.

Thanks a lot for the hint, Simon. I've been there and I guess they would have made a perfect job on the Canonet, but according to the repairman the damage inside is even more severe than i had suspected. Turning this little thing into a working camera would cost me about 180,--€ (including preparing for Mercury free batteries), which I think is a little too much for that camera . Still wondering.
So for the time being im still a rangefinderless RFFer, but I'll return here as soon as things change in this respect.

Thanks a lot once more,
