Bessa L + 12mm

Here are some shots from Mount Washington (Tuckerman's Ravine) taken with my Bessa L, 12mm Heliar on some Ektar 100. The last of the series were taken in Québec in an old abandoned quartz mine.

Very nice shots here. Bessa L is such a lightweight camera to hike along with. The ektar 100 looks smooth, I'll have to try some with my L with the 25/4. I think these are the 1st shots I've seen with the CV-12. I like it.

A few years ago I received a black Bessa-L camera body from a photographer who many here know well (Al Kaplan). It is in a very, very used condition but working fine. The marks on the camera give it some "class" I think. He used it with a 15mm CV lens for self portraits around his town. He passed away a bit over a year ago. His son sold me a 21mm for it and it works great and is lots of fun to use...so quick and simple.

Your images with the 12mm are wonderful. I'm pleased that so many here enjoy the Bessas and the CV lenses...especially the very wide angles.

I haven't used anything this wide. I struggled with compositions at 24mm! I really appreciate people who make good use of lenses like this.

I never go wider than a 21mm, this is giving me serious GAS for something wider.

Hey, thanks for your comments ! Richard, the 12mm is totally worth it. It's compact, fun to use. Although it takes a few rolls to get use to it, it can produce very inspiring images ! I say go for it if you can. Stick to the LTM version, I don't see why you would get the more expensive M version unless you really want to use some filters...

Fantastical compositions . . . ! I am just mesmerized and have already looked at them several times over. I really admire the way you handled the lens. Do you scan the negatives yourself?
