Bessa Porn?

Menage A Trois

Menage A Trois

I finally couldn't resist the call of the R4a, off the RFF classifieds

Here's my somewhat special Bessa R. I bought it used about 2 months ago and I've put around 60 rolls through it. I love this camera.

I'm a student at the Rochester Institute of Technology, and I recently was given the chance to participate in a Magnum event, along with around 50 of my classmates. I ended up spending two weeks working with Larry Towell (check his work out if you have not already), and at the end of the event last night I asked him if he would sign the bottom of my camera, which he graciously did for me. So my Bessa has an original signature that reads "to Andy with thanks . . . Rochester, NY 28/4/12 Larry Towell." Pretty sweet! Attached is the photo of the signed Bessa.

Cheers!

Andy

My first modern rangefinder (bought 3.5 years ago, sold in a year :( )
with M-Hexanon 50/2.0, Luigi's basic half-case with bild-in-grip, Tom Abrahamsson's mini soft release and self-made wrist strap:

What do you use now? Why did you sell after a year?

Great combo Jared. I just did the same about two weeks ago with my R2. Haven't developed anything from the J8 yet.

My R4M with Zeiss 21mm 2.8. The lens does come into the viewfinder somewhat but I don't mind it :).

This just arrived today :)

I originally bought the Biogon to use on my Sony Nex but found it too long (52.5mm equivalent) & the Bessa seemed a sensible option to use it on 35mm.

Beautiful kit

The main annoying characeristic of a Bessa camera is the shutter sound level. It alerts everyone in the neighborhood (so to speak) that I have taken a photo. I am today using a Canon 19mm on a Bessa L. The built-in meter is very useful.
