Well i just got my first interchangeable lens rangefinder the other week. A Bessa R3A, with sidegrip and soft release. I also got a second hand 35mm Ultron seperatley for a rediculously cheap price. My first choice would of been a 50mm, but i couldnt pass up the opportunity. Now all i need to do is resist the G.A.S attack, i still dont know how im going to pay my Uni fees this semester! haha
Naruto, I have a Bessa R and a Leica Summitar 2.0f-50mm and an Elmar 2.8f-50mm and I have been afraid to put the lens on the camera because the lens retracts into the camera body. Have you damaged the shutter or do you keep it out all of the time to not damage the shutter? I don't know how much room is available to depress the lens?
Joe
I understand taping a Leica but not so sure about taping a Bessa. Don't you tape a Leica so no one thinks it's a Leica? So do you tape a Bessa so that people think it's a Leica pretending not to be a Leica?
cjm: thanks, the bessa for S and C mounts are actually a little heavier than the M mount version, and CZ is back with passion. Likes such as biogon 21/4.5, biogon 35/2.8, sonnar 50/1.5 and sonnar 85/2 all had their debut on the Zeiss Ikon Contax RF mount between the 1930s-1950s.
