This is probably me being totally daft but, I understand the CV21/4 is rangefinder coupled, however it has an external viewfinder. How does this work since there is no option for framelines on the Bessa R for the 21/4 so I would imagine that you use the external viewfinder? Having not seen a 21/4 viewfinder, does it have the RFF patch in it or how does this work?

As I said, this is probably me being daft so please avoid too much sarcasm this evening in any replies! Its been a long and hectic day.

You can still focus using the Bessa R VF as normal however you have to frame the view with the ecternal VF. Thats all.

In fact the DOF for the 21 is huge so accurate focus is not a big deal with this lens. Cracking optic though.

Ah, I did say it was probably me being completely daft this evening!

Cannot make my mind up whether to go for one, I've a CV15 to sell on because I've just bought a Sigma 12-24 for my Canon SLR/DSLR and cannot justify having both that and the 15 for the Bessa. I was also going to get rid of the Bessa R with its CV35/2.8 but I still really like the size of the camera and have been after a 21/4 for a while. Trouble is none of my cameras are getting used as much as I'd like so not sure if can justify buying one at the moment, more likely need to rationalise which would leave me with the RF645 and QL17 for RFs. Oh well, see if I can talk myself out of buying the CV21 - much better for the CC balance!

Thanks for the reply.

Better for the cc balance if you don't spring for it, but it is a really sweet little lens. And as I keep saying, the viewfinder is truly amazing. Sorry.

:bang: Survived until about 5pm today, then gave in. The CV15 I think will have to go, I have the facility via SLR, OK bigger, heavier but I think the 21 is probably going to get more use. If not, it'll go to with the camera this time.

I doubt that you'll be disappointed. Let us know what you think of the lens once you have had a chance to take it out for a test drive.

Ah, well there is a guardian of my CC balance.... Having talked myself out of ordering it the night before, only to give in late the following afternoon, I find that in fact someone pipped me to it via phone (hence the reason it was still on the website, as web orders remove the item immediately) a few hours earlier .... Oh well, couldn't really afford it anyway. Still going to have to make my mind up whether I hold onto the Bessa and two lenses or sell them. I still have the RF645 to play with in RFF land!
