Bessa R and Industar 61

I just got an Industar 61 and tried it on my Bessa R. It doesn't quite tighten up flush against the body of camera when I screw it in place and wobbles ever so slightly. Does this happen with all of these lenses on a Bessa R or do I just have a dud? Could I still use it? BTW, a Jupiter 8 I have works great on the same camera.

Anybody with any thoughts?

I've got two I-61s and they both screw in tightly (I don't have a Bessa-R now, but they used to fit fine on it when I had one, and now they fit fine on my M adapters). But I've heard of FSU lenses being a bit wobbly before but working ok - you should certainly give yours a go.

I've had just the same problem.
I thought everything was OK until I checked on how the lens was focussing - and it wasn't.
I cleaned the threads on the lens and applied a minute amount of lubricant and tried again. When I tried to fit the lens again I found it stopped in about the same place. Closing my eyes and taking a deep breath I applied a bit more turn and a bit of a woggle. The lens felt as if it cleared a slight notch and then screwed home. Focus now OK.
In use its got a bit easier but I now woggle the lens as it screws on and don't have the same sort of difficulty.
The bit more of a turn wasn't massive and it wasn't a case of real force.
Have a go.
Check focus of lens first.

Remember that an I-61 is NOT engineered to the "Leica standard," which is what a Bessa R is. With many FSU lenses mounting OK, some will back focus, especially
close in.

For those handy with the proper tools, "Back off the standoff ring 1/4 of a turn," is Brian Sweeney's recommendation. Having never opened a lens in my life, I bought a properly modified [collimated] J8 from Brian earlier this year; it is superb.

At f/2.8 it should be pretty much OK because DOF takes care of the focusing inaccuracies. Attached picture was taken with an Industar-61 on a Leica M5, f/2.8 at 1/15 of a second, focusing on the edge of the sofa:

The I-61 is an immensely practical lens because it does not only deliver sharp-looking images with great rendition, but also because it is fairly forgiving. It's my most-used 50 at the moment.

Well, I checked the focus and it's not correct at close distances at f/2.8. Where is the standoff ring that I can adjust?
