Hi guys, how long did they last in your Rs? mine only lasted about 40-50 rolls (36+ exps). Normal?

These are toshiba LR44 came with the camera. I just got two new ones from energizer. Hope they will last longer...

The batteries that came with my Bessa R were pretty low right out of the box. I chucked them and bought some new ones (5 for $1 at the local dollar store).

I got 7 or 8 months from the set that came with my R. I have had a lovely soft release on it for most of that time and I know that the shutter was depressed more than needed--in the bag I use and by the coat I wore this past winter. I also didn't remove the batteries for "bulb" exposures as the manual recommends: I decided I could live with shortened batt. life easier than trying to find the batt. cover at night.
Probably shot 60 or 75 rolls.

Usually I too got about 50-75 rolls out of a battery, but much depends on how much you use the half-press to view the exposure LEDs. I used that quite regularly.

I think I've changed the batteries in both of my Bessas twice since September. I'm pretty sure that the meters are seeing lots of "use" inside the camera bag, and the cold of winter didn't help any, but there do not seem to be any defects with the cameras.

Rough guess is that since September, I've shot about 100 rolls of film, which makes maybe 25 rolls per set of batteries.

I use the single 3 volt lithiums (1/3L Duracell) in the R. Most all my Nikon SLR's use the same batteries, so I buy a dozen for around $2.99 each. They last a LOOOONG time ~ ; - )

I didn't know they are exchangable (2 LR44 = 1/3L). Really smart. Thanks.

I've not used the lithium battery, but SR44 batteries instead of LR44s last me two/three times longer in my SLRs.
