Hi guys,
During my stay near Chicago I had some time to try out my new Bessa R.. what a nice little girl! :D

Btw, I tested it with two russian lens (Jupiter 8 and Industar 26M) and I posted the picture in the gallery.

The J8 behaved quite well, with sharp images, no focus issues not much contrast, but good color rendition.

The I26M is a paper weight! ;)

Cheers,
Rob.

I'm shooting with a Bessa R and a J-8 these days too, until I get my hands on a 35.

I actually like the look of your shots with the I-26m. The flare is a bit a over the top, but I like the warm colors and sharpness seems alright.

A+ on creativity - I would have a.) never have pointed the Jupiter 9 towards the sun and b.) not have had color film loaded. - Thereby I would have missed the colored effect of the resulting flare and I do like the effect -

Thanks for sharing the images.

Yea that I-26 did pretty well Roberto, or I should say that Roberto did pretty well with the I-26!! :) Thanks for posting!

Roberto:

I think you did quite well with that I-26M. I like those shots the most.

Roberto, you done good boy! So did the lenses. I have the J8 and the Industar 61L/D I am using at the moment with my Bessa R. Off to a camera fair this weekend I will keep an eye out for the 26.

Great pictures! Fast lenses arent always better lenses, but as apreciation is a matter of taste not all the time people agree about the pros and cons of some equipment.
There is still something in the images that puzzles me, is that "old look", maybe it's that they are not colour corrected or they arent sharp the way we are get used, but there is somothing that makes this images different and I like them.

Eheh :D I can't blame Chicago weather.. I love that city!
Btw.. the I26 is quite soft and uncorrected, but, under "easy" conditions, it can do its work. I like the J8 a lot more.. it's more contrasty, has more resolution and does not flare so much!

I posted some more picture in the gallery...

Cheers,
rob.
