Hi, is there anyway to lock the shutter release button. I found I always mis-fire it when I take it in and out from the bag....

Thanks.

Nope, there isn't. I liked the way the shutter is "locked" on the Bessa L and was abit disappointed it was no longer on the R. However, I soon realised how much better that actually is. With the L I must move the lever "outwards" to be able to shoot; on the R the camera is, when cocked, always ready to shoot.

I was actually annoyed by the lock on the L and have been thinking of filing off that small protrusion on the advance lever. Guess we each have our opinions on this.

I actually still get it wrong after two or three months with the Bessa R3A.

My other rangfinder of ten years has powered film wind, and with this new manual one I forget to wind on.

I compose the shot, adjust the exposure, wait for the right moment and squeeze. And nothing happens because I had forgotten to wind on.
