Bessa R...She is MINE!!!

FWIW, I think both Cameraquest and Photovillage both sell the Bessa R and 35/2.5 lens for $399. It's on the Gandy site at that price under the R info, even if the price list is off. I bought from Photovillage and paid the sales tax over the shipping, just cause I work in Manhattan and could walk in with questions/issues. Of course now I'm interested in looking at the R2A or R3A since they're just a subway ride away, not that I really need them . . .

It does say "Sale $399" in the price list, but here is a copy of the item description, lifted straight from the Cameraquest site:

"Silver Bessa R Rangefinder Body w/ 35/2.5 C NEW LOW PRICE PICS This camera represents an amazing value for the money. It is a much better choice as a shooter than any classic Leica Screw Mount rangefinder camera -- and its costs less too ! Sold boxed with instruction book, body cap, and strap. or BLACK $425"

Thanks for all the info, guys. I now have a chrome R body with black 35 coming from Photovillage. It should be here by Friday.
I was going for the all black kit, but at the last second, while I was on the phone with them, I went back to my original choice.
Nice folks there at Photovillage.

Congrats! Nice choice! 😎 I just got an Industar 26 52mm from Ben (sockeyed) that he let me have for shipping, he even lubed it! Thanks Ben! Here is a pic with that mounted up. I also tried my hand at sewing up a copy of the SLING from leicagoodies.com, with some modifications.

I too recently joined the Bessa-R club and I find the camera is a thrill to use. I also shoot a Leica IIIF and told my wife I needed the second camera so I could shoot color and black and white at the same time. Plus I can use all my screwmount lenses. Bought mine from PhotoVillage because their price was $25 bucks less on the camera and lens combo. Also less for shipping. $12 instead of $20 with CameraQuest. Very prompt service. But, I have never heard an unkind word about Gandy and CameraQuest.
