Bessa R side grip fits other cameras?

I read that the Bessa R side grip fits some non-CV cameras, including SLRs.
Has anyone tried this? I'd be interested to hear the results, successful or not.

Near as I can tell it fits perfectly on an Olympus OM 1N..just tried it.. Dave
