Bessa R3a shutter release problem

I have trouble depressing the shutter release buttom "half way" to view the Exposure Time in the view finder without tripping the shutter. I have a Canonet lll g 17 and a Mamya 7 which have the same feature but rather than having a vauge feeling their release buttons have a two stages of stroke resistance.

how long have you had the r3a?

my zeiss ikon and r4m seem ok as long as i am paying attention to them.

The R3A has a very sensitive shutter button. Also, I feel there is no perceptible change in the stroke pressure when going from meter on to shutter release. Patience. You'll get it.
