Hi all,

I noticed on my Bessa R3m body that there was some rattling going on when I shake it or flip it upside down. I eventually discovered the issue was caused by a washer in the rewind crank spool. Please see the attached picture to see what I'm talking about.

Is this normal for that washer to be loose? Thanks!

Just to describe it a bit more, the washer isn't under pressure by the inner spring when the rewind crank is down, as it has a bit of room to move and tilt, which is what causes the small metallic clinging noise when I shake the body or turn it upside down. Also, when pulling the crank up, the interface between the spindle and the washer isn't completely flat, due to my guess that the end of the inner spring isn't completely flat.

From a usability standpoint, it doesn't affect the pulling of the crank to open the back. The only concern is between the durability of the spindle, washer, and springs since it's not a clean interface between the three...

Anyways, if Voigtlander designed the current Bessa's to be this way, then so be it 🙂
