Hello all - Just received a Bessa T 101 Anniversary Special with the Heliar 50 3.5. (See http://cameraquest.com/voig101.htm ) Here are a few shots from yesterday that may give some idea of its imaging qualities. All of these were shot after 7PM in fading light, some bright, some dim. All made with Ilford XP2 and processed at Walgreens.

No claims about artistic merit of these, but it was a good trial run.

Enjoy.

Actually the lens is round. It was found that the ideal shape of the lens elements was round so they fit the barrel around them to hold them in place. I have also not found the edges of my lenses sharp, well maybe the bayonet, but those are mounted in the body. The outer most ring of the lens is actually more blunt than sharp. I imagine it would be a products liability risk if it were sharp, too many injuries. Perhaps it was originally designed with a sharp outer ring, but my guess is that the manufacturer's insurance company made them change it. You know, today's litigious society and all.......

Now, those photographs, they are quite crisp.😉
