Not likely, it'll sync even with the batteries absent, which indicates the contact is mechanical..colyn said:

Not that this is a guarantee...
I've used the Bessa L with Vivitar 285's quite a lot, and no problems.
Then again, I've also used those flashguns on a Pentax *iSTDs for a long time and not killed it either.

How about my R3A? I like my 400V flash, but I like the R3A more.
