Bessa T and onward

I am a recent owner of a Bessa T. Its a chrome with a 35/ 1.7 ultron lens and metal external viewfinder. Although, most of my work is with a Mamya 7 and a Canham 4x5, I have absolutely fallen in love with this camera and keep it at my side at all times. I was much dismayed recently when the camera jammed. I spoke with Photovillage and they where very helpfull offering to switch the camera for a new one. My concern is that it has suffered this problem so early on.(perhaps 30 rolls of film.) Is this a fluke or a problem with this camera? It is currently under warranty, but would it be worth 100$ or more to repair a 190$ body. And mosy importantly,therefore , has the time come for a Leica? Perhaps an M6.( my main requirement for a leica would be an internal meter. and framelines for wider rather than longer lens)

the bessa line are known to jam if the film advance is used before the shutter completely fires.
a slow hand is what's called for.

I had a Bessa L jam on me. I had just loaded a roll of film, wound the shutter and nothing happened when I pushed the shutter button and the wind lever was frozen.

I have recently replaced it with a Canon IVSB😀

Knock on wood, I've had a Bessa T for five years and never had her jam. Used a Bessa L for about four and the same good luck. Most of the time I am not a fast shooter (though a winder is attached to the T at all times).

There was another jam thread, my R2a jammed when it was new (first 5-10 rolls) - it's not jammed since.

Either it's broken in now, or I've learnt not to do something I was doing (pretty sure it wasn't winding on before the shutter had closed).

I've had my Bessa R for about two years -- taken all over the world -- it's still going strong with no problems.

I has a Bessa T for three or so years, and it never jammed. However, I was very careful with it!

I had a low serial number (00003110) Bessa-T that broke after about 20 rolls. The frame advance and shutter needed a complete repair, so it wasn't merely a shutter jam that could be helped by some wiggling.. and I was very careful with it too!

Since then, I've put almost the same amount of film through it, and am anxiously awaiting whether I'll pass that milestone unscathed..
