Hi, I can get a Bessa T with winder and Nokton 50 with viewfinder for a reasonable price. I am sure there are Bessa T users on RFF. Since it is not possible to search for Bessa and T with the search engine:
Any comments? Reccomandations? Should I or should I not? I have a M2 and a CLE. I still have no 90mm Summicron, so the slightly more precise focussing compared to the M2 is not that important I guess.
On the other hand I would like another M body for a third kind of film...

Help me out of my confusion please!

Rob.

I've owned a Bessa-T for awhile now and IMO it's one of the best values on the market. I paid Steven Gandy $185 for a brand new black body and it's been great. My one criticism is that the back isn't as stiff as I'd like but I've had no problems with it whatsoever. The rangefinder offers a wide diopter adjustment range and is crystal clear with excellent contrast.

You can buy one M-Mount adapter and use it as a screw-mount camera or put an adapter on each LTM lens you own. You can also buy M-Mount lenses if you like.

I like mine! 🙂

I have recently purchased one of Stephen Gandy's remaining "silver" B-Ts. I bought it to
compliment my M6, not as a second body: it operates very differently. When you *must*
focus, it provides greater accuracy and ease(I'm a two eyed shooter) than the M6. When
you want to "play," its lighter weight--than your M2 and CLE--is welcome, and so too that
the light meter is exterior, so you can more easily ignore LEDs in the view. Oh, and
welcome to the land of VF collecting!

A 50 Nokton with VF? Dunno about the reasonable price you're getting, but the separate
RF and VF ought to surprise you in use. I chose it for this separation, and the price point
of another body to use my lenses. You speak of "another M body for a third kind of film,"
which is how I'd use the B-T, but also as a third kind of shooting too.

The one gripe I have--and you may have a similar gripe with the M2--is that the film-speed
dial turns very easily, and thus your TTL meter readings, when put in and out of a bag...
so, if you do buy this kit, treat the film-speed dial as you would the film-count dial on your
M2: trust and verify!

Rob, I'm really enjoying mine a lot, used with a 35mm lens and a cheap (but very good) FSU finder it 's a nice lightweight camera. The RF is VERY easy to focus if needed, it's well built and the M mount opens a lot of options.

It's IMO another of the incredible CV bargains right now.

I've got a black Bessa-T for a couple of days now, and must say that the best part about it is indeed the rangefinder. With a 1.5x magnification, focussing is a breeze. It certainly beats squinting through a 0.6x finder. I will need to get used to the separate rangefinder/viewfinder windows though..

I almost bought a Bessa T when I was researching my options. But due to wearing glassses I found it very hard to see though the little finder for the focusing. Other than that, it really looked like a nice camera to get 🙂 They no longer have any left down here on sale, but if they did id get one 🙂

Hi everyone, I just got the Bessa T. The Nokton and the trigger winder will be for sale because I like my 1,2 Canon just fine and I want to keep the thing compact enough to fit in the neverready case.

See the classifieds.
