Bessa T rangefinder adjustment

I'm having a hell of a time getting the rangefinder calibrated on my Bessa T. Unlike some of the other Bessas there seems to be now way to calibrate without taking the top cover off, so I've left this to a professional repairman. He's managed to get the infinity calibration in, but he says there's no way to adjust close focusing accuracy on the T. That sounds really weird, and it makes my camera pretty useless for anything but scale focusing, since the focus is off by about 15cm at 1m (tested this with three lenses). Does anyone know better?

He might be a professional, but are you sure his speciality is repair?

The stuff is at Panorama Camera in New York. They're not specialized in Leica gear, but usually do a fair job with simpler repairs. It's quite possible he doesn't know what he's doing.
