Anyone familiar with this camera & lens. Purchased it last year but haven't shot with it yet. Supposedly and very fine lens? Comments!

WHAT!?

what are you asking us for?

[you can send the heliar to me, I will test it for you!]

Uhhh, That combo bought for display? It screams to get use!
Please try it out!

Brian's right. Even Mr. Puts basically found the lens beyond reproach -- a rather remarkable thing to read in one of his reports. I have the lens myself -- need to use it more. But it's a great lens. (I like it so much, I even got the Nikon Historical Society R2S with the non-collapsible version.)

Then what is the point of your question?

Then what is the point of your question?

If you want to keep it unused as a collectors piece, which is perfectly understandable...

Then why did you ask about it as a shooter?

Just curious.

I've read about it but was curious if it was as good as they say, also thinking of trying the lens with my M3.

I bought it as a collectors item. I'm afraid if i use it i will devalue it.

The kits sold for a bit over a thousand when new. Now they sell in mint condition for 600-700 USD. I would go ahead and use it.

I had a kit in blue, and now just have the lens. I agree with the others' impressions, it is an excellent lens. I would recommend shooting some slow film with it.

I really wish it were sold separately. I'd love to get my hands on the lens, but I have utterly no interest in the L or T cameras.

It is, IIRC, in nikon or contax mount.
