I had seen this book on a Japanese site, and ordered a copy from these people.

Superb, it covers the L;R and T and is lavishly illutrated with high quality pictures.
Sadly only available in Japanese, which I don't speak. Has tests of lenses with results.
It may well now be out of print.
Its a pity that the publishers didn't consider an english version, I would have thought there would be a sufficient market for one.

I have said it before.

I think someone (Stephen or Tom are you listening?) needs to write an English language book about the Bessas and CV RF gear. Deep down inside their clients are gearhead geeks who will buy this book up and put it proudly on their book shelves next to their books about Leicas and the other camera systems they have studied.

I have the same issue of Bessa World. Covers the R, L and T (I have all three). Paid over $80 for it on evilbay. And worth every penny, IMO.

I am going to severely upset you, mine is new, $25 including postage!!! Sorry!!!
The one thing that did really fool me was that I did not realize that a Japanese book opens the opposite way to a western one, 😱

Roger Hicks's book Rangefinder: Equipment, History, Techniques covers the Bessas in decent detail (link).

The Bessa World book looks cooler though, purely because it is in Japanese!

At the time of publishing the R2 was new. Roger and Frances' book is now dated. Bessas deserve their own book.

I was under whelmed by his book. Not deep enough for my tastes. Felt like a big NY Times article on rangefinders.

The old saying "you can't please all of the people all of the time-----" comes to mind.
If you like it, buy it, if you don't then leave it alone!!😛

Not really. It was a birthday gift from my family. Yes it's cool that it opens from the back.

OK these books are NOT Shakespear, but especially if it is like today dull, very wet, and bu**er-all on TV, it can be a very pleasant way to loose an hour or so, especially when accompanied by a single malt.😉
