Best battery choice for the Konica Auto S2

I tried using the Weincell Zinc air option and that cost me £6 and lasted two months and about four or five films. I know the silver oxide option is supposed to be pretty good although at 1.55v you have to adjust the ASA. Just wondered what other members choose to do and which option they found worked best?

I still have some mercury 1.35V beasts (SR44-sized to use with O-ring) but also use SR44 with diode in some devices, designed for mecury batteries. My KAS2 haven't been cleaned perfectly (shuuter), so A mode isn't working, only manual and there I go without battery.

I have an S2. I use a silver oxide 386 battery with the MR9 voltage reducing adapter from the Small Battery Company in London: http://www.smallbattery.company.org.uk/sbc_mr9_adapter.htm

It's a pricey one-off but a far better solution (in my experience) than Wien cells, which seemed to last me for an incredibly short while. I also use their MR44 adaptor in other cameras.

If the SR44 size works, I'd say just use those and adjust the film speed accordingly. If you don't want to adjust film speed, then get 675 size zinc-air batteries at any pharmacy (chemist?) -- they are the same thing as the Wein cells, though not as long lasting. However, they are a lot less expensive.

I use inexpensive 675 hearing aid batteries in this inexpensive adapter:

If you remove the battery when not in use and cover the + side with the tab that comes with the battery, it will last several months. The batteries are inexpensive to begin with. This provides 1.4 volts and metering is accurate.

This combination is also good in my Minolta Hi-matic 7S, Yashica Mat 124, and Minolta SRT201. It's a little too wide to fit in my Zeiss Ikon Contaflex Super BC.
