For 28/2, my choice is the Contax/Yashica 28/2 Distagon "Hollywood." Amazing lens, floating element. The close focus would give some pretty amazing perspectives while still throwing the background out of focus...hard to do otherwise with a wide. Admittedly these are relatively uncommon. 🙂
I have Color Skopar 28/3.5 and Ultron 28/2, and an M9 to test with. Ferider and I didn't say the opposite, we different on degree.
- The Color Skopar is closest to symmetric, very compact, and produces strong color shifting and some edge smearing on the M9.
- The Ultron f/2 lens is a retrofocus design, although not as strongly retrofocus as any SLR lens design of comparable focal length; it produces near to no color shifting or edge smearing on the M9. I've not had the opportunity to compare f/2 and f/1.9 Ultrons side by side.
Most of the later series Elmarit 28s are also retrofocus designs, just how strong I cannot say. How they interact with the M9 sensor I similarly cannot say as I haven't used any of them.
