Best lens for New York?

A couple of other good joints:

Da Antonio's on 55th off 3rd -- they make Italian food like they were cooking for themselves.
If you like family style Italian and don't mind noise or immense martinis :Carmine's on B'way and about 90th.
Jerusalem Fallafel on 104th (103rd?) and Broadway.
Anyplace Korean on 32d Street, and particularly Hangawi if you like vegitarian food.

Plenty of good ways to spend a food dollar.

Lot's of good recommendations for eating on these posts- many are my favorites when I'm out and about with my cameras.
My most-used lens on my M8 in NYC is my 28mm Elmarit V4.

Good stuff, a best of New York thread is far better than a lens thread. After all, you're far more likely to get pictures having good reason too go to parts of the city that you wouldn't of otherwise.

Hope you have a good time anyway.

I took a little day trip this winter, shot entirely with a 15mm on film. It was a bit too wide at times, but mostly just right. I'd say go wider than you normally expect.

Chinatown is great for street work, Soho has some characters, just get off the beaten path is my best advice

here's a few with the 15mm

WOW ;)
Thanks to all people for the recomendations, in 7 days I´m not shure to got eat at all places , but I´ll tray

I´ll bring my M8 and a MP, finally the lens will be the 21 asph, 35 Lux asph and 50 Lux asph, I´not shure to carry the 75 Lux or the 90 Elmarit, I think maybe I´ll need a tele but for the extra weight I´m considering it.

Another question to New York people, can you recoment a good LAB for develod the film, B&N and C41??
I preffer to bring back my films develod to prevent the airport scanners.

I´ll be acommodate in midtown close to Grarmecy Park.

And one again THANKS

Efra

yes, "imagination photo lab" on park avenue south at 26th street (+- 1 or 2 blocks) on the East side of the street. I have not been there in a couple years (since I bought a M8) but I used to go there for my wedding film $5 process $5 scan for 4x6@300dpi. Not the most amazing scans but you can make a 5x7 print from them easily. Just a bit high contrast in my opinion, but I think that is from the 'auto levels' they put on the scans.
ps. this is their website

Any suggestion about a LAB in NY to proccess C41 and scan??

I am happy with Luster, on Avenue A and St. Mark's Place (8th Street).
C41 process and scans (jpegs at approx 3500x2500) for $19 -- not cheap, but the scans are good quality, and they handle and package negatives carefully.
