Best Lumix Micro 4/3 Zooms for the GF-1

Anybody used any good Lumix Micri 4/3 Zoom (or prime) lenses for their GF-1? What about Voigtlander, Zeiss of Leica lenses with the Micro 4/3 to M-Series Adapter? I've heard that some lenses are really great, while others, specifically wideangles are not so great.

I have a GF-1 with the Lumix 20mm F/1.7 lens, and I'm looking for some additional 'glass'

Hi Brad, I got into the m4/3 when I came across a virtually new but 2nd hand 7-14 zoom. After comparing it to the CV12, CV15 and Kobalux 21 I finally decided to let them go and hop over to the GF-1 for most of my photo stuff.
The other wideangles do smear in the corners. I made a baffle to use on my 35mm Ultron, which works great. But it doesn't work on all lenses. The 12mm is outstanding, is the sharpest in corners. But on m4/3 it's not such a thrilling wide anymore. That's where the 7-14 comes in.
The 14-45 is simply handy. I prefer primes though.

I was actually interested in the 14-140 zoom, but I haven't run into anybody using it on the GF-1 as I think that it was designed for the GH-1.

It was not designed for the GH-1 only but it was designed for filming. And it's huge.
I like the panasonic 14-45 because it's so versatile and a really good zoom lens.

The 14-140 wouldn't balance well on a GF1 and, being a superzoom, it isn't the best optically.

I've heard great things about the 7-14/4 and the inexpensive 45-200.

I think it's one of the best el-cheapo kit lenses around 🙂.

The 45-200 is quite good and amazingly light.

LOL, show the results to a Canon or Nikon zoom lens user and they'd think you were using a prime. Well, OK a slight exaggeration because its a little slow in the aperture stakes, but it is a remarkable lens and the idea it is a 'kit' lens is in name only. Don't get caught up in any stigma.The 45-200mm is also very good, and light so it will balance on the GF-1 if you need a long tele. This lens falls down a bit at 200mm, but as thats 400mm in normal terms it not a bad effort and well worth the money.Steve

the 14-45mm is really a very good lens - small, well built, good handling and great optics. If you want something faster consider the zuiko 14-54mm f2.8-3.5, although much bigger.
