Best photos of 2024?

It's that time of the year. What were your best images of the year? Lets keep it to the top 5. I'll start it off.

The first two are with my Leica M 240 & the Nikkor 50/1.4 I believe. The other three are with the K-5 and the 20-40 Limited.

2024 has been a good year for me - photographically speaking. I selected the following 5 - i could add plently of honorable mentions too. Most taken with Nikons (F4, F5) except of the sunbathing lady which is shot with an OM-2n.

I don't know if these are the best but I have fond memories shooting them. I also played around with color more than I have in years. I purchased a Camp Snap digital toy camera and had a lot of fun with it. The color shots are from that camera. In no particular order.

Like Dickens said, best of times/worst of times. That has been 2024. Stepping away from the worst, I had a few photos I continue to like based on varied and sundry reasons.

First off, Dog In Traffic.

Nikon D700, 25/2.8 Zeiss Distagon ZF.2 lens.

A group of kids after school waiting to cross the street. Typical youngsters of this age, each involved in their own lives and oblivious to the world.

Fuji X-Pro2, Voigtländer 28/2 Ultron (version 1) lens.

Christie confronted by the doggie in the window and a fat old man who looks a lot like her dad.

I spend a lot of time waiting in places. This lady looks a little perturbed by all the noise and activity behind her. But she endured.

Nikon Z5, Voigtländer 40/1.4 Nockton Classic SC lens.

I don't know what these ladies were discussing but they apparently didn't like the subject very much.

This lady appeared to have some serious problems.

A great live oak in a neighbor's yard. With a little help from software, a wide lens and square format:

Not sure about best but maybe my favourite. Up a ladder, to clear own overgrown hedge, 250mm lens on the Hasselblad, needing the PME90 prism finder, I think also the Leitz tabletop tripod and large ball head. I see this tree where I sit at the table. Very uplifting.
