Best Pocketable Lens for M4/3

I showed my wife a Pansonic Lumix when we were at Target today (the only M4/3). She liked it but looked at the P + S next to it and said that it looked more like what she wanted (i.e. that it could be carried easier). I told her that there was some pancake lenses that would make it more like that.

So, is there a good choice for a lens to make the OM-D more easy to carry?

Panasonic 20/1.7

14mm f2.5 is the smallest lens for m43, I believe.
28mm equivalent, great for street and just about everything tbh.
Ridiculously inexpensive on ebay.

When I had the m4/3 system, I had both the 20/1.7 and the 14/2.5. Wonderful combination.

I agree. I have both the Pany 14/2.5 and the 20/1.7. Both are small but the 14 is especially so and makes my E-PL1 quite pocketable.

Suggested are the tiny lenses. Do they make the camera easier to carry, no. Just pick the lenses that will work for you and don't worry about size.

The Oly 17 seems to not be as well respected/reviewed as the Panny 20/1.7. 'Fraid the 14 is a little to wide for what I was wanting it for.

So how much better is the Panny than the oly? or is it?

Probably better to invest in pants with more accommodating pockets...as the best there is for the mu43 is the PL25/1.4, bar none. 😉

Failing that, and noting the wifery requirements, then you can't go wrong with either the P14 or P20. The former being smaller but the latter being sharper. Having said that, together, they make a formidable kit for the size.

She actually had a better camera when we got married so she's no 'oh it a cute pink li'l camera' gal. However, part of me selling her on needing to spend the money was the compactness compared to the DSLR I have now.
