I'm getting so sick of my crappy Treo camera. Which Android phone has the best camera w Verizon? Is there anything amazing on the horizon? And seeing that the iPhone has all these cool Photo apps, is there anything as good for the Droid?
I know there are rumors of the iPhone coming to Verizon this Summer. I doubt it, I think those are planted to keep us loyal to Verizon.

I've been using the Android, specs here: http://www.verizonwireless.com:80/b...&selectedPhoneId=5069&changingCompletedOrder=
5 mp camera, 16mb of storage and it takes pretty damned good pics for a cell phone. I stayed with verizon for they're coverage area, otherwise I'd have an iphone. I use an app called FXcamera that allows some "creative" looking pics.

also, I chose this model over the HTC because it has an actual keyboard, esier for me than the touchscreen keyboard.
There is a newer version coming out with an 8mp camera, not sure if it'll be better.

I have had the Verizon Incredible for a little over a week now, and can only say great things about it. PM me and I can email you some shots from it (around 2MB each). I have not yet had time to fully explore the quality, but it is pretty breathtaking compared to my old (weak) phone.

I use the Verizon Motorola Droid A855. It's pretty good. I hear the Droid Incredible has a better camera though.
On Android you can get some really fun photo apps. I like Vignette.

It has fun settings, color modes, film emulation modes, frames, and customizable settings like, to overxpose/underexpose, to add vignetting, to increase grain, and so on. It also disables the camera shutter sound so you can shoot in silence~
Some of my shots from it. Just quick snaps as I hang out with my friends.

Android is getting bigger and bigger. A recent report said we've been selling more android than iPhones. I think this means that popular apps on iPhone will likely be ported to Android at some point. (where there's a market & buyers, there will be sellers)

Not sure if it's Verizon, but my friend Jemaine has one of these:

Hey Frank, what about a jailbroken iPhone and then buying a Verizon sim card?
Verizon is CDMA, not GSM. They don't have SIMs, so this idea would work just about everywhere...except in the US.
I don't know if my Blackberry Tour is the "best," but it does take a pretty decent pic from its cameraphone, and does have a flash as well.

I just read that apple is working on a CDMA version of the iPhone, we can only hope.

Wow. And I thought that only a few select carriers in Canada were still CDMA! That totally sucks. Unlocked phones are totally the way to go - especially if you travel a lot. Plan B would be a plan buy-out. Probably pricey, though.
There are probably more CDMA networks around than you think. Even China has one. But as a result of the entirely different system, my Blackberry from Verizon is actually a CDMA/quad-band GSM phone. When I roam overseas, it switches over.
I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for the CDMA iPhone either...there are rumors it's out this year, but then there was an article the other day confirming AT&T has exclusivity until 2012.

I got the Droid Incredible at the end of April. Nice phone! It's got an 8 MP camera, but I haven't been very impressed with the few shots I've made with it (just test shots, etc.). I always have a real camera with me anyway, so it's no big deal. I'll play some more with it, but I'm not going to waste too much time dicking with it.

Just bought the Droid Incredible too, it is on back order for a couple of week though. Not that the camera was that awesome, but I could rationalize that a decent P&S digital costs about as much and the Droid does so many other things, it is like the camera is free.

They all have exceptionally and equally crappy image quality, which actually is their strength. What I would really want is some sort of control over exposure and focus points and anything beyond that is quite unimportant as with the minuscule sensors and all the megapixels squeezed in, you endup with really bad images. But they also can have a lot of character. Cell phone is the new lomo. Post processing is a must and when used intelligently the results can be powerful.

Worked with my Droid Incredible cell phone camera last weekend on a bike ride. Samples straight from the camera. Not too bad (sorry about the size):

Verizon is not GSM compatible and therefore the iPhone even unlocked, will not work on verizon's network

Those Incredible shots look about as good as the average $100 consumer P&S digital, which isn't so bad.
