Greetings,

I just bought a used M6 which is dirty and some "rub" marks on it. Could anyone offer advise on the best way to clean the body and make it look as good as possible? Thanks!

First C2H5OH on q tips for nooks and crannys the q tip does not need to be sopping just damp.
Second cocktail stick carefully for tight corners carefully.
Try and resist cleaning the optics, they will work ok with finger prints.
If you must air blower from a bulb first then tease out cotton on qtip and just dampen with C2H5OH, and float the qtip over the optic like it (the glass) was butterfly's wing. fluid can ingress the optics if you use too much and you can scratch, you wont clean off scratches.

For the chrome, I used to use a lightly moistened lens cleaning cloth and lens cleaning fluid. Not the cheapest, on a $/volume basis, but it worked.

Keep the alcohol off the vulcanite. It will dry it out. There are lots of theories about what's best, none proven as far as I know. My favorite nominees: pure lanolin, olive oil or mineral oil, all applied with care, discretion and common sense. If the vulcanite dries out, it will crack and flake off. Not a disaster, since recovering is easy, but something to consider.
