Best Way to Protect Eyeglasses From M2's Eyepiece?

Just wanna note that I ordered a bag of these things and they really work rather well. They need to be stretched ever-so-slightly to fit, which should mean they're less likely to fall off. If I was so inclined, I suspect a little glue would attach it permanently. As it is, though, I've got 99 spares.

Hey, just checked back and I was overwhelmed by the responses! What a great bunch of helpful people here at RFF. I did take care of the VF on my M2 by using a round rubber O ring and it seems to work fine and is holding, but I will keep all these suggestions in mind if I need to replace it . Thanks again!

The Aki-Asahi ones are the best that I have found. Glasses are expensive, at least the ones I buy, and it isn't worth screwing around with. Many solutions mentioned here are more theoretical than functional. The Aki-Asahi donuts deliver.

The Aki-Asahi donuts seem great in theory, but less so in practice. When I use them, they move.

I agree about the need to protect glasses. Mine cost as much as many CV lenses.

Diopters aren't a solution for me. They'd need to be custom made, and I don't have the patience to keep taking my glasses on and off.

I've noticed the O-rings are just a bit too large, extending a fraction of an inch over the top of the camera, so I suspect they can pop off inside a camera bag. But, they do protect eyeglasses.

The ring around my R4M's eyepiece handles this problem quite nicely. I'd like to see an aftermarket version for M bodies.

The view of my "new" M2's framelines with my eyeglasses, using one of these O-rings or DAG's plastic eyepiece cover, is identical.

Mine had never fallen off. However, the best glue to use is clear or black silicone, same type for caulking bath tubs. A couple of pin-head size dot at the 3- and 9 o'clock position on the underside of the o-ring would hold it forever, and removable clean [with a sharp x-acto blade] if you must.

I never understood why Leica would not make/sell/offer the equivalent for the legions of M users. No doubt many wear glasses. Being Leica, they probably want $50 each.
