I got an email:
"Greetings,

This is Jorge from RFF. The original creator of RFF. I work with Stephen on keeping it going and coming up with better ideas."

What is this? Any ideas?

Have you previously exchanged email with Jorge?

It is not unknown for computer malware to resend old emails or harvest phrases and contacts from sent items in order to initiate exchanges with known contacts.
Exploiting trusted relationships is a way for malware to initiate fraudulent money exchanges or spread the malware.

Totally agree.
I do think myself this is very probably a scam.
So should there be some attention from RFF?

Jorge has started a new forum concentrating on photos using Voigtlander lenses, and has sent out email seeking members to post some content. Alberti quotes only the first and introductory part of the email...

I have tried to sign-up more than once, and it fails. He said he was blocking Yahoo, and removed the block, but I think it is still active.

Dedicated 2 Voigtländer images . .
Well then, a show-case. Actually I like the larger image size (size costs nothing these days). The commenting capability is very out of some box, and too simple. Could it be more simple and quick to use?

Looking 4 new ideas - -
Suggest then there should be certain new policies:
  1. Select the tagged lens and place them in a virtual sub forum
  2. Or have the user mandatory select the appropriate lens.
  3. Check the possibility of lens/body (generally not FE for ZM and certyainly not the other way around exept in macro)
  4. And do check if the combo camera/lens is approriate (e.g. do not place an IpHone X5 photo with a tag of a VC lens . . in the Leicaimages section)
  5. And equally create a virtual collection related to a camera body.

We live in the age of ads. And the Bartender is the ad-man. So discuss how ads be placed along the significant lines.
For instance,
  • make a virtual bag of lenses per user (here on RFF it is tacit, user- managed. Very effective but also requesting 2006 activities forgotten 15 years later)
  • promote the lens that fits that bag
  • it should be easy to show the new developments in VC/Zeiss land.
  • And have the links to the bartender's shop.

Now having "replied to Jorge" this way I like to add that this should be a step for RFF too  ? Where does it leave the RFF? If the 'ideas' fly out the back door?

Wel, it is called the bullet-list style, and often, it can be seen as a bull-**** style (because such lists contain many open doors).
Ah well. Old habits. :bang:
Probably the times have changed without me seeing that.
